Navy Seeks Out-Of-Work Auto Engineers In Detroit
The Detroit Free Press (5/20, Spangler) reports, "The Navy is looking for out-of-work automobile engineers. And it's found some in metro Detroit, apparently." At a recent job fair, "recruiters from the Naval Sea Systems Command, or NAVSEA -- which engineers, builds, buys and maintains the Navy's ships, submarines and combat systems - came specifically looking for 'displaced mid-career automotive engineering professionals' who officials say have experience which could be readily transferable to the Navy's needs."
